  • What materials are available for your plastic elevator buckets ?

    • There are 3 types of materials that we use for the manufacture of our elevator buckets they are HDPE, NYLON & PU.
    • HDPE buckets: suitable for handling grains, foodstuffs, and other products without sharp edges and with bulk densities of less than 1g/cm3. HDPE buckets are NOT suitable for materials with service temperatures over 80℃.
    • Nylon buckets: suitable for handling highly abrasive products at elevated temperatures. Nylon is highly recommended for use in rough or severe service elevators. NYLON buckets are NOT suitable for materials with a service over 120℃.
    • PU buckets: suitable for handling extremely abrasive material. They’re an excellent choice for extremely high throughput elevators. Correct choice of bucket material will reduce downtime of your conveyor system and and save money in the long run.
  • How many types for plastic elevator buckets? What is the benefit and how to choose the right bucket?

    D Type: Deep bottom bucket for agricultural use. Heavy-duty buckets suitable for handling grains, feeds, fertilizers, seeds, salt and chemicals, etc. It is an improved version of original DS type bucket and international recognized CC type bucket and can interchange with them.

    S Type: Shallow bottom bucket for agricultural use.. It’s an improved version of our DQ type and EU low profile bucket and can interchange with them. By allowing closer bucket spacing on the belt than CC type bucket, suitable for higher discharge speed and light material elevating, to improve the elevator capacity.

    EU type: European Low Profile bucket for agricultural use. It’s a nonmetal version of traditional European low profile steel bucket type, and can interchange with our S type and DQ type buckets.

    M Type: Medium bottom bucket for agricultural use, with depth between deep bottom & shallow bottom bucket. It is nonmetal version of traditional European medium steel bucket.

    DS Type: Deep bottom bucket for agricultural use. It’s our first generation of plastic deep bottom elevator buckets and can interchange with D type and CC type buckets .

    DQ Type: Shallow bottom bucket for agricultural use. It’s our first generation of plastic shallow bottom elevator buckets and can interchange with S type and EU type buckets.

    DW Type: Bottomless Bucket for agricultural use. Several bottomless bucket and one bucket consists of one group and are installed at a very close spacing on the belt to make the material elevate continuously, to achieve larger capacity. Capacity will increase 1.5~2 times by replacing the original buckets with bottomless buckets in the elevators. Also, bottomless bucket can adapt to higher discharge speed. Power is needed to be changed while the capacity of the elevators are increased by using DW bottom bucket.

    DG Type: Combination bucket for agricultural use. Initiated and promoted by our company in China, it’s a special design by composing one bottomless bucket and one general bucket. With improved capacity, it adapts to higher discharge speed.

    DM Type: Continuous Discharge bucket for Agricultural use.
    It is suitable for low-speed discharge elevator at 0.5 ~ 0.8mtrs/s. The products are fed into the bucket slowly while in loading and when the buckets move onto the elevator head for discharging, along with the runner of the former bucket’s bottom, the products flow into the outlet of the elevator. The products are handled slowly and gently, thereby to reduce the broken percentage in the process of products elevating. It is recommended for the industry where the demand for very low broken percentage is required. Compared to the elevators of other discharge types but with same capacity, such buckets need bigger elevator in volume.

    DH Type: As agricultural bucket, it’s suitable for drying elevator in the paddy and rice handling industry, as well as for other agricultural applications.

    DL Type: Overlapping bucket for agricultural use. It’s specially designed for chain conveyors mixed by vertical and horizontal transmission. The loading and discharge are finished by free falling of the products. This bucket is mainly used for high demand on low broken percentage and applications with difficult loading and discharge. Almost no wear loss in the loading and discharging, good overturning and size stability in the full loading should be guaranteed in the elevator running. Therefore, well rigid material is preferred for this bucket .

    AA Type: AA industrial bucket in Nylon. It’s a revised edition of traditional cast iron bucket with thicker front lip and reinforced bolt installation area. It’s suitable for ore, sand, gravel, coal, fertilizer, clay, salt, limestone and cement, etc.. AA bucket is the optimum industrial bucket.

    Fabrication type:
    Fabricated by bending, piecing, welding and forming. The bucket can meet client’s special demand for thicken, reinforced wall thickness and special order on the digger buckets which is mixed with the plastic buckets. . We can customize according to clients material demand.

    Application of the steel buckets:
    Primarily used for the substitution of nonmetallic buckets when heat becomes too excessive or when extremely sharp products and heavy production are carried in the bucket elevator. Mainly used in mining and construction.

  • How do I measure bucket capacity?

    Z-Y(WL capactiy): Place ball wall of the bucket perpendicular to water level;
    X-Y: Place bucket front lip at the same water level as back lip; If necessary, seal the punching holes and venting holes and fill water until overflow. Then calculate the water volume inside the bucket or weight that. (water density=1 approx. )

  • Why buckets needs venting sometimes?

    • A venting bucket can improve the efficiency of some bucket elevators when handling certain products. When carrying dense products such as flour, meals and mash feeds, the vents allow air to escape through the buckets as it fills, which permits the buckets to fill more completely. During discharge air can return through the cups as it empties, thus preventing a vacuum that could hold some of the product in the bucket and cause blacklegging. On extremely light materials such as alfalfa meal, screenings and bran, a vented bucket not only minimizes blowing of the product during loading and discharge, but also reduces air turbulence in the leg as the bucket travels empty down the return side of the elevator. A reduction in air currents minimizes the vacuum which can draw a light product through the down leg and back to the boot.
  • When are steel digger buckets used?

    • Steel digger buckets are designed to be used in conjunction with nonmetallic buckets when elevating certain materials that harden or set up with moisture. The steel digger bucket with a little bigger size A and B should replace every 10th nonmetallic bucket. The digger bucket will keep a clear path cut through the hardened material in the boot of the elevator and protect the other buckets from rubbing abrasion and premature wear.
  • Can we shorten the bucket spacing than recommendation value?

    • The bucket spacing is decided by head pulley size, belt speed and the bulk density of the products that carried (bulk density influence the discharge of the products). Generally, for big head pulley and slow belt speed, the spacing can be a little less than the recommended valued
  • How do I determine bucket width (Size A in the specification chart) according belt width?

    • The bucket width much be smaller than belt width, generally 20mm less
  • What is the delivery lead-time for elevator bucket?

    • For order quantity of regular size less than 200pcs: immediate delivery is available.
    • For order quantity of regular size above than 200pcs but less than or equal to 1000pcs: within 10 days if stock insufficient.
    • For order quantity of special size less than or equal to 1000pcs: within 10 days if stock insufficient.
    • For order quantity above than 2000pcs but less or equal to 5000pcs: within 20 days if stock insufficient.
    • For customized size, we will need to make mold and production will be completed within 2 months.

Conveyor Belt

  • How can I choose the material of woven fabric?

    • Cotton Canvas: Made of polyester cotton in warp and weft. good flexibility, excellent troughability, cheap, applied to the common operating environment, small intensity.
    • Nylon Canvas: Made of nylon fiber in warp and weft. High intensity, outstanding fatigue resistance, good flexibility and elastic, good impact resistance and excellent troughability. Poor heat endurance, alkali resistance but no acid, easy transhape.
    • EP Canvas: Made of polyester fiber in warp and nylon fiber in weft. outstanding fatigue resistance, good dimensional stability and heat endurance, acid resistance but no alkali. Waterproof, no mould, suitable for moisture environment.
  • How can I choose the pattern conveyor belt according to the transferred material?

    • In general, the belt conveying angle can reach 35 degree for package, and 28 degree for bulk material.
    •  Raised pattern: “V” – transfer package, bags, such as: rice in bag “^” - transfer package, bags and bulk material, such as pea, meat, rice in bag.
    •  Note: Conveying angle less than 20 degree for bulk material, and 40 degree for bags.
      Sunk pattern: transfer package, bags and bulk material.
    •  Pattern depth < 10mm, suitable for conveying angel less than 20 degree
      Such as: pea, meat
    •  Pattern depth > 10mm, suitable for conveying angel range from 20 degree ~ 40 degree
      Such as: rice in bags, power in bags.
  • What's the difference between EP belt and Nylon belt in performance and application?

    • EP conveyor belt: Certain intensity, low-shrinkage, intensity unchanged in damp surrounding.Suitable for that material which is high impact, heavy wear, small elongation, running smoothly, such as ore and coal, no matter how long distance.
    • Nylon conveyor belt: High intensity, good flexibility and elastic.Suitable for that material which is high impact, heavy wear, big falling height.
  • What's difference between hot-junction and cold-junction for conveyor belt ?

    • Hot-junction: Joint two belts with the same glue stock through special heating equipment and machine. The strength of belt junction can reach 90% of belt. This kind of junction useful life is near belt, which makes conveyor belt run steady.
    • Cold-junction: Joint two belts with special glue water. The strength of belt junction can reach 80% of belt. This kind of junction useful life is short and easy to peel off, which makes conveyor belt run unsteady.

  • Two styles available

    • Two styles available: Injection Molded Drag Conveyor Flight and UHMWPE Drag Conveyor Flight.
    • The injection molded drag flight is low cost but with less wear resistance compared to the UHMWPE drag conveyor flight.
    • Our UHMWPE drag flights are cut and machined from our own made UHMWPE Sheeting, with reliable quality and reasonable cost.

  • What are the features of the Engineering Plastic Products ?

  • Why some UHMWPE sheets in the market are not really wear resistant?

    • UHMWPE is a kind of high molecular weight material with superior wear resistance. The properties like wear resistance, friction co-efficiency and quality/price ratio achieves optimal among all the engineering plastic materials. Some customers complain that their UHMWPE sheet is not so wear resistant, it is mainly due to the low molecular weight and improper using.
    • It’s suggested that the molecular weight of the UHMWPE above than 3 million can be qualified in the applications. Due to the difficult forming of the UHMWPE in the production process, some manufacturers in the market use low molecular weight UHMWPE in the production to ease the process and reduce the production cost, or add some general HDPE, which make the UHMWPE not pure and less wear resistant.
  • What color is available for Sanwei UHMWPE liners? What grade and specification available?

    • Normal color:white, blue, black, red and green. Special color is available upon request. White meets FDA, FDA/USDA and 3-A dairy guide. Green meet FDA FDA/USDA.
  • Sanwei UHMWPE Sheet can be classified into four grades:

    • Food Grade-White: FDA FDA/USDA approved, an excellent wear resistant material;
    • Reinforced Grade-Black: By adding special high molecular weight material, the friction coefficient and anti-static properties are greatly improved. Its applicable in the dusty parts where lubrication are required.
    • Anti-static Black: Suitable for the parts where electrostatic charge easily occur. It allows the partial transmission of the current, which will eliminate the electrostatic accumulation.
    • Oily Grade Green: FDA FDA/USDA approved, it is suitable for food and pharmaceutics. With oiliness additive, it is used to lubricate the surface of the connection. It is suitable for the round parts that need to reduce the friction. Not suggested to be used in the dusty occasions.
    • UHMWPE sheet specification:
      1220MM(width) 3010MM(length) regular thickness: 6.7mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and etc. Other thickness can be made according to the customers requirement. Maximum thickness 160mm. The white sheet of regular thickness can be supplied at cut size. For other color, its supplied in whole sheet.

    • Testing conditions
      Sand/Water=3/2 weight rate choose construction sand between 14-24 mesh size testing sample size at 60mmX40mmx4mm, where 2/3 is exposed in the sand water for grinding at the rating speed of 910r/min. The rotating circle diameter of the testing sample is 110mm,testing time is 7hs, to figure out the wear loss of the 2/3 of the testing sample quality.
  • What should be considered when installing the UHMWPE liners in the conveyor though and sprout trough?

    • Generally, the UHMWPE sheet is connected with the metal parts, when the circumstance temperature changes, attention should be drawn on the different contraction percentage between the UHMWPE sheet and metal parts. The UHMWPE will contracted larger than metal material. So some gap should be given when fastening the UHMWPE sheet on the metal parts to allow the UHMWPE material flex freely an avoid the bulge caused by the UHMWPE elongation. Also the fastening points should be distributed uniformly.
  • What about the delivery lead time?

    • For regular sizes equal or less than 10pcs, with ready stock for immediately delivery; If cut size needed, add 1~2 days.
    • Non-regular size, and regular size equal to and less than 30pcs, delivery lead time will be 15 days.
    • Order quantity larger than 30pcs, delivery lead time will be 30 days.

  • What are the typical features of Sanwei elevator belt?

    • Sanwei PVC elevator belt and rubber elevator belt are manufactured by Sanwei Company, not distribution. So it is good ability to control quality and cost.

  • What is the difference between PVC belts and multiply rubber elevator belt?

    • The core of multi-ply rubber elevator belt is vulcanized with rubber clothes. It can peel off easily due to its poor tensile property. More layers and greater thickness are needed to achieve the desired tensile strength.
    • The core of multiply elevator belt is vulcanized with rubber clothing. It is easy to peel off and low tensile property. Because the belt players are made respectively, the tensile and elongation between players, the tension and strain are uniform. Thus, the more layers and thickness, the greatest tensile performance loss.
    • However, PVC belt has no defects above. There is much higher wear-resisting property than multiply elevator belt. So the life of PVC belt is one time longer than rubber belt especially in oils, water, acid, alkali chemical solution. PVC belt cannot exceeded 85 degree celsius
  • What's the specification for PVC Elevator Belt? And what's the order requirement ?

    • There are four specs for PVC belt: PVC600, PVC450, PVC300 & PVC170. PVC450, PVC300 & PVC170 can be supplied in certain length and width basis on client’s demand. PVC600 in certain width, while the length meets 100m or 200m. For others, each spec is 1350mm x 200m every time. Sanwei Company customize PVC belt according to clients’ demand, such as total thickness, top and bottom thickness.
    • Suggestion: If the order can’t meet our requirement, we suggest choose senior grade PVC belt.
  • What's the specification for rubber elevator belt? And what's the order requirement ?

    • There are three specs for rubber elevator belt: 600YP, 800YP & 1000YP. 600YP, 800YP can be supplied in certain length and width basis on client’s demand. 1000YP in certain width, while the length meets 100m or 200m. For others, each spec meets longer than 50m and wider than 300mm every time. Sanwei Company customize PVC belt according to clients’ demand.
  • How I choose elevator belt specification?

  • How I can confirm the elevator belt width and length?

    • The belt width will not exceed width of head pulley. In general, less 50mm than head pulley.
    • The belt length is basis on minimum distance between head pulley and end pulley (The distance is end pulley maximum) + 1 diammer of head pulley + length of belt lace.
  • Which matters need attention when elevator belt install?

  • What is the lead-time for elevator belt?

    • There are stock supplies on time for usual specification. Transfer time impact on supply time.
    • The goods can be finished within 20 days for unusual specification or exceed quantity in stock. The arrival time depend on transfer time.

  • How to prevent turning of the bolt when fastening ?

    • Teeth type, fang type, flat neck type are the major means adopted to prevent followed turning of bolt. Fang bolt is the best one of 3 means and it can be fixed easily on belt by directly locking Nylon lock nut.
  • How to choose proper bolt length ?

    • Bolt length=belt thickness +bucket back wall thickness +all washer’s thickness + nut thickness x 1.5 + length of teeth or length of fang.
  • What is the feature of Sanwei belt clamp and how to choose right specification clamp.

Impact Bar

  • What are the features of our impact bars ?

  • which is better on buffering effect between impact bar and rubber conveyor roller.

    • The contact between impact bar and conveyor belt along length-wise and width-wise is an area contact, it solidly supports position on belt impacted by loading. But contact between rubber conveyor roller and belt is line contact, besides distance between 2 contact line is bigger than 1 single roller diameter so that the supporting is not solid and can not guarantee good buffering effect on belt. Therefore impact bar has much better buffering effect on belt than rubber roller.
    • The force on belt will be pressed evenly on impact bar surface, effectively reduce phenomenon of splashing and scattering compare with using rubber roller.
    • UHMWPE board with super low coefficient smooth surface can reduce friction with belt as most as possible.
    • Special rubber ply with high elasticity can absorb impact from conveying materials as most as possible.
    • The parts of impact bar combined by vulcanized technology that can make joint more solid and durable.
    • There are bolts along length-wise that can firmly fix T-track on impact bed frame to get guarantee of solid joint, it is also very easy to dismantle or remove when need.
  • What applications are for Normal Impact Bar, High Elastic Impact Bar & Flame Resistant Impact Bar ?

    • Sanwei impact bar include Normal type, High elasticity type and Fire-resistant & anti-static type.
    • Normal Type: Suitalbe for general use except for underground coal mine.
    • High Elastic Type: Suitable for the place with bigger gap between discharge point and belt or the application request better buffering property.
    • Fire-resistant & anti-static: Suitable for the coal mine underground. However, the elasticity and abrasive resistant performance of Fire-resistant & anti-static type will be less than the other type due to materials changing.
    • According to the “National Regulation of Safe Standard For Coal Mine”, Aluminum is not allowed to be used,so that the qualified impact bar used in coal mine should not utilize Aluminum material.
  • what is the right material for impact bar surface to contact with belt.

    • There always have been friction and abrasion  happened between impact bar and belt due to relative movement while working, therefore the proper materials for impact bar surface should be of low friction coefficient performance while possessing enough abrasive resistant ability. The UHMWPE’s good abrasive resistant performance and extreme low friction coefficient property make it to be an ideal materials to this products, its harmful effect to belt is the lowest when getting long working life .
    • There are some factory taking PU material as working surface of impact bar in the market, however, the PU’s friction coefficient is much bigger than UHMWPE’s although its abrasive resistant performance is better than UHMWPE material, the belt’s life will be shorten a lot while extending impact bar’s life spen. The problem is the purchase cost and replacing cost for belt is much higher than impact bar, it is not economical to factory.

    Continuous cold rolled molding technology:

    • It has advantages of high efficient molding, high materials utilization ratio, convenient to weld when assembly, good solid strength. But it has restricting on flight outer diameter, thickness and specification for lack of roll capability of machine and lack of capability for producing steel plate thickness. Now we are able to manufacture mild carbon steel screw flight with the max thickness less than 6mm and  plate width (OD/2-ID/2) less than 165mm. In addition, it will waste a lot of materials at beginning of initial production adjusting stage, therefore, the materials utilizing ratio and production efficiency are low, production cost is high. Outer edge thickness is about half of inner edge thickness, in the meantime outer edge hardness will be increased more than 1 time than original after cold rolled, that will help intensify wear resistant ability of outer edge.

    Segment rolled-equal thickness technology:

    • Segment rolled-equal thickness technology is specially designed to overcome those problems that are difficult to be solved by continuous cold rolled technology in such as big diameter products, big thickness products, special specification products, wear-resistant steel materials products, stainless steel materials products. The segment rolled-equal thickness screw flight is  single pitch screw flight, outer thickness is almost same as inner thickness. Its high precision size can meet customers demand once finishing molding. The method can manage products as per list below. It has better precision, better qualified ratio when compare with continuous cold rolled molding technology, also it is able to meet demand of small order, special requirements wanted, specially suitable for producing screw flight in big size, big thickness, wear resistant steel material, stainless steel material. The shortcoming are low materials utilizing ratio and production efficiency when request volume production.

    • Continuous rolled-equal thickness molding technology is designed to get high precision, high qualified ratio that can not managed by continuous cold rolled technology. The products are continuous multi-pitch screw flight, The features are high precision, outer thickness same as inner thickness. Its materials utilizing ratio is the highest among these three method, its production efficient is same as continuous cold rolled technology. but it is difficult to produce big width steel plate products and small ratio of inner diameter against outer diameter products, therefore there are some restricts on specification.

    • Sieve cleaners and pan cleaners be required with good toughness and wear resistance in sieve of flourmill. Usually injected molding process by polyurethane (PU). According to the structure of PU can be divided into polyester-polyurethane and polyether-polyurethane. The polyether has excellent hydrolytic stability, high resilience, toughness and higher strength, at the same time, it to meet the requirements of U.S.A Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
    • It’s very suitable for sieve of high humidity, continuous high-frequency impact and high-rebound. While polyester has good tensile, flexural, wear resistance, solvent resistance and high temperature resistance. But polyester easy decompose by water molecules that it fracture. So the polyester-polyurethane unsuitable at sieve of high-humidity, continuous high-frequency impact and high-rebound. Since polyether-polyurethane has higher cost and more complex production technology than polyester, otherwise it has higher requirements of production equipments, so the price of polyether products much higher than polyester. Due to a larger price difference between polyester and polyether products, so have a large numbers of polyester-polyurethane sieve cleaners and pan cleaners flooding the market.
